NDA Jammu and Kashmir Recruitment Drive Begins

NEW DELHI:Amid the suspense over formation of government in J&K with the PDP, the BJP-led NDA Government is going ahead with plans to quietly launch a special recruitment drive in border district of Kupwara on Wednesday as part of a special industry initiative.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the government would be taking along over 10 corporates including Accenture, Future, Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited and Rooman Technology to scout fresh talent in the militancy-hit region. The drive, which will continue till Thursday, is aimed at providing exposure to graduates and post graduates in Jammu and Kashmir to India Inc and also give the corporates access to the state’s rich talent pool.

“Eight more similar drives are planned in the state in the next two months to cover far-flung areas including Samba, Sopore, Baramulla, Kathua, Reasi and Doda. Through this special initiative, corporates have an absorption target of 5,000 youths. Many of them have already taken in about 2,500 youths,” the official said, adding that more than 6,000 candidates have joined training till date.
