Pb Jails Asked to Make Arrangements for Christians for Fast

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today directed the Jails Department to ensure requisite arrangements for Christian inmates lodged in various jails for performing peaceful prayers and fast during 40-day Lent season.

Badal issued the directions after a meeting with a delegation of Christian United Federation here, an official release said.

The Deputy Chief Minister also assured the delegation that proper and necessary arrangements as well as environment would be provided to the inmates, besides ensuring basic facilities for fast and prayers during this pious season.

He said the SAD-BJP coalition was fully committed for the welfare and all round development of all sections of the society.
