Pachauri Gets Protection Till March 27

NEW DELHI: TERI Director General R K Pachauri, who is facing sexual harassment allegations from a junior colleague, was on Thursday granted interim protection from arrest till March 27.

However, Additional Sessions Judge Raj Kumar Tripathi has restrained Pachauri from contacting TERI staff, witnesses in the case and the complainant.

“The accused is directed not to enter the TERI office during the course of investigation. He is also directed not to contact TERI’s staff, complainant, witnesses or tamper with evidences and [must] join the investigation after being released from hospital,” the judge said.

“The accused is also directed not to leave country without prior permission from the court. He [should] not be arrested till the next date of hearing in the case i.e March 27,” the court said, adding “his anticipatory bail application will be taken up on March 27”.
