BHADIHI: Prisoners lodged in the district jail here created a ruckus after one of the inmates died allegedly due to poisoning, official sources said today.

31-year-old Vijay Kumar Gupta, jailed in connection with a murder, died late last night inside the prison, they said.

Other inmates created a ruckus and did not let the authorities take the body out of the prison, they said.

The body was brought out this morning by jail authorities and District Administration with the help of the victim's father Nand Lal Gupta.

Nand Lal alleged that his son was being harassed inside the jail and poisoned.

Taking note of the incident, District Magistrate Prakash Bindu has ordered a magisterial probe.

The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.
