NEW DELHI: Amid complete chaos and protest by opposition lawmakers, a BJP MP invoked Thiruvalluvar, celebrated Tamil poet and philosopher, to sort out the mess in Parliament.

Tarun Vijay former editor of Panchajanya and Rajya Sabha MP brought out a Thiruvalluvar portrait and a placard in Tamil at the entrance of Parliament immediately after the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 2 PM, requesting fellow MPs to learn ethics and human morals from Thiruvalluvar’s classic Thirukkural. Placard reads; “Let Thiruvalluvar bless us, guide our path in Parliament.”

Tarun Vijay told the Express that Thiruvalluvar’s vision was required for the lawmakers so that they could work seriously for the betterment of poor people.

The BJP MP who demanded a Thiruvalluvar statue and portrait set up in Parliament, said that Thiruvalluvar’s ideals and Thirukkural may guide Parliament to help  run proceedings in an orderly way. “If we all work as per the ideals of Thirukkural, the problems that we face today inside the House will be resolved amicably,” Tarun Vijay said.
