DU Receives Over 1.5 Lakh Online Applications

NEW DELHI: Delhi University received 1,58,636 online applications till 5 p.m. on Monday -- the fifth day of the online registration for undergraduate admissions, a university official said.

Of these, 82,085 candidates have already deposited their fees.

The online admission process began on May 28 and since then the university has received 55,406 applications in the general category, 17,196 under OBC, 7,799 under SC, 1,532 under ST and 172 in Persons With Disability category, a university official said.

The online process will continue till June 15, and the offline registration will start from June 5.

The eight centres for offline registration are Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Dyal Singh College, Gargi College, Maharaja Agrasen College, PGDAV College, Rajdhani College, Shyam Lal College, and Sri Guru Gobind Singh College.

The first cut-offs will be released on June 25. Gandhi alleges NDA govt allowed SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Ordinance, 2014 to lapse, urges PM to bring bill on it in parliament's monsoon session.
