GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today criticised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not taking any representative from the North East with him on his Bangladesh tour.

Gogoi expressed his strong resentment over the exclusion of chief ministers of North East from the Prime Minister's visit to Bangladesh, an official release said.

"Gogoi said the exclusion of chief ministers of the North East from Prime Minister's visit to Bangladesh is contrary to the spirit of cooperative federalism.

"The action implied as if the North East states have no role to play in improving relationship between India and Bangladesh," the statement said.
