Cop Among 2 Arrested for Threatening to Kill Youth in JK

Two persons, including a policeman, were arrested for allegedly threatening to kill a youth besides recovering two weapons from their possession here, police said.

JAMMU: Two persons, including a policeman, were arrested for allegedly threatening to kill a youth besides recovering two weapons from their possession here, police said today.

"Constable Jahangeer Ahmed and notorious criminal Mohitesh Sharma were caught while they were threatening Raiz Ahmed, a resident of Gujjar Nagar, and recovered weapons from them last evening," police said.

They were threatening to kill Raiz as he had failed to pay them some money, police said.

Jahangeer was in possession of a Belgium made revolver, while Mohitesh was carrying a pistol, the officer said.

Multiple criminal cases have been registered against Mohitesh at different police stations of Jammu city, he added.

A case in this regard has been registered at Pir Mitha police station and the matter is being investigated, the officer said.

The arrest was made by Sub-Inspector Rasheed under the supervision of SDPO, City North, Perbeet Singh Parihar and SP, City, SK Chouhan.
