Politicians and Celebrities Who Might Have Got Yoga Wrong

Prime Minister Modi's efforts on International Yoga day was a success with a new Guinness Record for yoga being performed with 35,985 participants at one venue. Among all the participants who genuinely took part in the international yoga day, lime lights where thrown on the ones who did the asanas uniquely.

Here are some of the moments when yoga became more than just a physical exercise:

Poonam Pandey:

To synchronise with world yoga day, Poonam Pandey took an initiative to spread the awareness of Yoga's importance to the world. Calling it 'Poonam Pandey Style of Yoga', the bollywood actress started her yoga session with basic asanas.

She did fundamental asanas, the ones with less efforts that people should follow everyday. She then started doing 'Poonam's Style' asanas that had chilled movements. She even named those asanas as 'doggy style', 'breast asana' and 'hips dont lie asana'. She finished the video with a message 'Stay fit, Stay healthy, Stay sexy'.

Vijaykanth:

Various leaders from different parties took part to celebrate the Yoga Day but DMDK chief Vijaykanth looked the funniest while trying different poses.

Vijaykanth led his 100 party workers showing them how yoga is done or rather how it is done for the first time.

In his yoga video, a young boy can be seen performing 'asanas' while Vijaykanth observes him carefully. But when he tries the asanas, he finds it difficult.

The most hilarious part comes where he is being taught to sit straight by a fellow volunteer and he can be seen staring at his own fingers while trying some asanas.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu

‘Shavasana’ is performed after all the other asanas to get into deep meditative state. While performing yoga during the International Yoga day, the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu took ‘Shavasana’ way too seriously.

Suresh Prabhu’s picture of falling asleep during a performance in a stadium at Kochi had taken rounds on twitter.

This is a testimony for the power of yoga and yoga’s effects worked out fine for the Railway minister. As reported by Malayala Manoramma, he took a while to rise from his peaceful state. After volunteers’ continuous attempts to awaken him, Suresh Prabhu finally woke up, before which camera men around him performed their duties well.
