NEW DELHI:India has lodged a protest with China over Beijing’s proposed investment in infrastructure, including energy and transport links, in disputed Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of the $46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar revealed on the eve of the Prime Minister’s long-awaited visit to the middle kingdom. Incidentally, China planned to link the CPEC to its ‘one belt, one road’ policy.

“The matter has been taken up with the Chinese government through diplomatic channels,” Jaishankar told reporters on Tuesday.
