Delhi Sees Yet Another Gangrape

NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old woman was abducted   from Delhi’s Defence Colony and gangraped by a group of men early on Sunday. An auto driver, who routinely picks up the woman from her workplace, informed police about the incident.

Four accused -- Aman, 26, Deepak, 20, Akash, 23, and Rohit -- were arrested in connection with the incident. Two more caucused are absconding, said a senior police officer.

The victim told the police that one of the accused, Rohit, did not rape her even though he was present in the car.

The victim, a resident of West Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, works for an event management company. She had gone to the Defence Colony on Saturday night for an event. “Just as the woman was about to return home, four youths emerged from a white Hyundai Santro car and pulled her inside. The driver, however, did not come out of the vehicle. They drove her towards Khanpur area,” said the police officer.

The men allegedly took her to a flat at Dakshinpuri, where one other person was already present. They allegedly took turns to rape her.
