Muri Express Derails in UP, One Dead, Six Injured

KAUSHAMBI: Eight bogies of a Jammu-bound train derailed here in Uttar Pradesh today, reportedly killing one person and injuring six.      

The Muri Express, on way to Jammu Tawi, derailed between Sirathu and Atsarai railway stations and one of them overturned, Chief PRO North-Central railway Vijay Kumar said.      

There are reports of death of one person in the accident but details are awaited, he said.     

 Relief and rescue teams have been rushed to the site, Kumar said.      

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh for the deceased and directed Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan to make available all necessary help to the victims.
