Three Dead Bodies Found in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Three persons, including a woman were found dead in separate incidents in the city.    

In the first incident, a Border Roads Organisation employee was found dead inside Yatri Niwas in Lal Chowk area of the city, a police spokesman said. "The deceased was identified as Mahesh Chand, a resident of Uttarakhand. He was an employee of Border Roads Organisation," he said.

The body of a woman was recovered underneath the flyover at Hyderpora in the city this morning after locals alerted the cops, the spokesman said. He said the deceased appeared to be mentally unsound and from outside the valley.          

Another body was recovered near Tengpora in the jurisdiction of police station Batamaloo. The deceased was later identified as Abdul Rashid Sodagar, a resident of Nundresh Colony-A in Bemina. After completion of the medico-legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the legal heirs for last rites, the spokesman said.

Police has registered cases and initiated proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of these deaths.
