Dadri Killing: Pre-planned or Not?

Sharma, persisted with his refrain that Iqlakh's death by the lynch mob was an "accident" which should not be given a communal colour and over which there should be no politics.

NOIDA: As the political pilgrimage continues to the tiny and until four days ago a peaceful settlement at Bishada village in the satellite town of Greater Noida, the grief of the distraught family of Mohammed Iqlakh, does not seem to be lessening.

After setting of a political storm the Union Minister and MP from Gautam Buddh Nagar Mahesh Sharma(GBN) paid a visit to the victim’s family on Friday, just after AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi sympathised with the family.

Sharma, persisted with his refrain that Iqlakh's death by the lynch mob was an "accident" which should not be given a communal colour and over which there should be no politics.

"It is a blot on our culture and such incidents do not have a place in a civilised society. If somebody says it was pre-planned, I don't agree with it. It is an accident and it should be probed by CBI or state and guilty should be punished. Innocents should not be victimised in the name of investigation," Sharma, Minister of State for Tourism and Culture said at Bishada where he consoled the bereaved family.

Owaisi, described the killing as "a pre-planned murder", actuated by the victim's religion.

"We had expected that the least the Prime Minister, who talks of 'sabka saath-sabka vikas' (inclusivity)', would have tweeted to condole Iqlakh's murder. The PM' should have at least sent his condolences in a tweet if he believes in pluralism and upholding of law," he said.

Sharply reacting to Owaisi’s charges Sharma said “He(Owaisi) just came to visit the family to do politics. He is no yardstick for me. People asking for my resignation are simply politicizing the incident, only my PM can ask for it(resignation)”

Meanwhile the District Magistrate N P Singh Gautam Buddh Nagar said that people who are trying vitiate the atmosphere by posting and spreading rumors on social media platforms will be dealt strictly.

“We have identified a few people spreading lies on Twitter and Facebook. This is a very sensitive issue, people should not say objectionable things like this. Strict action will follow. ” Singh said. He added that one FIR has been registered against Anuj Kumar@kg25 twitter handle and more will follow.

Amid allegations of the incident to be pre-planned GBN Senior Superintendent of police Kiran S said “Six people have been arrested by the police so far and as per the initial investigations it is clear that no one from outside was involved in this. They acted on their own.We are talking to them and the truth will come out soon.”

Further the magistrate said that Danish the 22 year old injured son of the deceased is improving and that he is constantly monitoring the situation. On Monday night  Bishada village was rocked by the brutal killing of Iqlakh, based on rumors that he slaughtered a cow and stored it for consumption.
