'Frame Charges Against Muzaffarnagar Riots Gangrape Accused'

MUZAFFARNAGAR: The lawyer representing the case of a gangrape victim in the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots said that the charges should be 'quickly' framed against accused as the alleged rioters are using "tactics" to delay the matter.

A senior lawyer Vrinda Grover appeared at a local court here and requested that the charges against three accused should be framed as they are using "delaying tactics" in the case.

She also argued that the accused are pressurising the victim to withdraw the case.

The Judge of the fast-track court, Gulab Singh, has fixed October 17 for an order on framing charges in the incident in which the woman was gangraped by three accused, identified as - Kuldeep, Sikander and Mahashvir - at Lank village in the district in 2013.

A total of seven gangrape cases, including six in Phugana and one in Lank village, were registered against 27 people during riots in 2013.
