Sushma Swaraj Helps 5-year-old Pakistani Girl in Need of Liver Transplant

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj came to the rescue of a 5-year-old Basma Mohammad Faisal who needed an endoscopy test and a liver transplant. The liver transplant facility is neither available in Oman or in her native country Pakistan.

After her story emerged in Times of Oman, Sushma Swaraj tweeted, “We have issued Visa for Basma's surgery in India. I wish her a speedy recovery.”

In the report, Basma’s father said, “I lost my elder daughter to the same disease about 11 years back. I don’t want to lose her and plan to get both the operations done at Global Hospital in Chennai in India.”

Sushma Swaraj has often helped NRIs grievances through social media and even took suo motto steps based on media reports. Sushma personally took her phone number and deputed the Indian Embassy in Berlin to address her issue.
