8 Injured in Clash Over Harassment of Woman in UP

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Eight persons were injured in a clash between two groups allegedly over harassment of a woman at Kakroli village in the district, police said today.

Four persons have been arrested in connection with the clash which took place yesterday, they said. Nitin and Niraj Kumar entered into a confrontation over the alleged harassment of the woman last month. The argument later turned in a violent clash between the two groups, police said.

Sharp weapons, lathis and bricks were used in the scuffle which led to injuries to the eight persons following which they were admitted to a hospital, they said. Security has been tightened and extra police force deployed in the area, police added.
