Government's OROP No Hit among Veterans

According to defence personnel, this would lead to a stage where a junior officer would get higher pension than his senior.

NEW DELHI: Even after Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government announced the implementation of One Rank One Pension, some issues continue to be the sticking point between the agitating ex-servicemen and the Ministry of Defence(MoD).

A major issue is pension revision after five years.  According to defence personnel, this would lead to a stage where a junior officer would get higher pension than his senior.

“Revision after five years with an average (will result) in a calculation whereby a senior officer will get lesser pension than his junior officer. And that disappointed officer can approach court for legal recourse,” said a senior officer. The agitating ex-servicemen have also raised  reservations about the five-year pension revision plan.
