Pak, IS Raised in Talks with Russian Min

NEW DELHI: Terror sponsored and exported by Pakistan and threat from terror outfit IS figured prominently during a meeting between Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, the Home Ministry sources said.

Terming IS threat a matter of serious concern, Rajnath said there was a need for close cooperation and exchange of information between the two countries.

There was also discussion on monitoring the activity of terror outfit, particularly in the field of media, to counter the extensive media propaganda by the IS and the cyberspace to combat jihadi chat and online recruitment.

The two sides also agreed to set up an expert group on cyber security and counter-terrorism. There would be sharing of experiences in the field of specialised training and exchange of experts.

India is also revising a 1993 agreement on cooperation and interaction between the Ministry of Security of Russia and MHA.
