Nepal Embassy Discusses Saudi Diplomat Case With Gurgaon Police Chief

GURGAON: Nepal Embassy officials met Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk at his office here today and discussed the rape case allegedly involving a diplomat from Saudi Arabia.

“We are here to know the development,” said Rajendra Man Shrestha, a counsellor at the Nepal embassy, after the meeting.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajesh Kumar had yesterday said that the medical reports of the Nepalese women confirm that they were sexually assaulted.

Police Commissioner Virk had earlier said that the accused diplomat enjoyed diplomatic immunity.

The police had on Tuesday rescued the two women, who alleged that that they were held captive and assaulted sexually over a month by the diplomat.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has requested the Saudi Arabian embassy in New Delhi to cooperate in the case.
