No Link to Yadav Singh, Says SP Leader Ramgopal Yadav

When Akshay Yadav was asked about the allegations, he said, "I have nothing to do with Yadav Singh".

FIROZABAD: Ruling Samajwadi Party leader Ramgopal Yadav today termed as "baseless" allegations that his family members had links with tainted former Noida chief engineer Yadav Singh.

"There is no relation of any member of my family with Yadav Singh. All these reports are baseless. The probe (CBI) is on in Singh's case and it will clear everything," the SP General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP told reporters while replying to their queries on the issue.

It was alleged in a media report that Ramgopal's son and MP Akshay Yadav had taken over 9000 shares of a company owned by an aide of Yadav Singh in 2013 in a "sweet deal" months after Yadav Singh was reinstated by the UP government.

When Akshay Yadav was asked about the allegations, he said, "I have nothing to do with Yadav Singh".

Ramgopal Yadav is the cousin of party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Last month, Samajwadi Party government in the state had moved the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court's decision to order a CBI probe into alleged irregularities by Yadav Singh.
