JAMMU: Panun Kashmir, an organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, today said the "unholy" coalition between the "separatist" PDP and nationalist BJP is an "alliance of surrender".
"The unholy alliance between the separatist PDP and nationalist BJP is an alliance of surrender and is responsible for the present emboldening of anti-national elements in Jammu and Kashmir", Chairman of Panun Kashmir Ajay Chrungoo said here.
He was speaking at a Balidaan divas function in which rich tributes were paid to the martyrs who laid down their lives for maintaining the security and integrity of Indian nation in Jammu & Kashmir.
"It is responsible for the present emboldening of anti-national elements in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
"How is it that despite the State Laws, cow slaughter continued in Kashmir for decades with impunity; and now when the High Court pronounced for enforcing the ban, all shades of opinion in Kashmir have started openly defying this order," Chrungoo questioned.
He also questioned why even some BJP leaders are showing open defiance and have decided to hold beef parties on the occasion of Eid.
Panun Kashmir leader asked the BJP to revisit the Agenda of Alliance and respect the mandate of the people of Jammu. He stressed that Panun Kashmir is a clarion call to the nation of India to desist from abandoning its civilisational and political frontiers.
Chrungoo emphasized that culture without politics does not survive.
"Politics is most crucial when communities have been subjected to genocide. lt is now beyond doubt to everybody that Panun Kashmir is our politics. Struggle for reclaiming our homeland is the life blood of our survival", he said.
He said that "it has given us purpose in exile. It has given us respect in exile. lt has forced the establishment to provide us sustenance in exile. Panun Kashmir is a response to Jihad and fundamentalism of any nature. lt is a response to exclusivism".
Chrungoo said "It is a response of a civilisation under assault to stand on its own".
