Centre, Delhi Government, MCD Responsible for Spread of Dengue: Congress

Congress will hold a demonstration outside Kejriwal's residence to protest AAP government's failure to check dengue cases.

NEW DELHI: Congress today blamed the Centre, Delhi Government and BJP-led municipal corporations for spread of dengue in the national capital and said it will stage protest outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence later this week.

"The Congress will hold a demonstration outside Kejriwal's residence on September 17 to protest against AAP government's failure to check alarming number of dengue cases in Delhi.

"Thousands of Congress workers will take part in the demonstration as the AAP government, BJP-controlled MCD and Centre were all to be blamed for the spread of dengue in Delhi, as one more death due to dengue was reported today," Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said in a statement.

Dengue crisis continued to rattle Delhi with a six-year-old boy and a woman succumbing to the vector-borne disease, raising the toll to 11 until now.

As per the municipal corporation's data released yesterday, 613 cases of dengue have been reported in the last one week and a total 1,872 patients have tested positive for the vector borne disease till September 12.
