Security Stepped up in Vadodara for Ganesh Immersion Tomorrow

VADODARA: Security has been stepped up here for the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols tomorrow, which culminates the 10-day-long celebrations.

The police for the first time will be using a CCTV camera van - 'Prahar' to keep a hawk eye on the proceedings. "We will be using this high-tech van to keep a watch on the movements of people," city police commissioner E Radhakrishna told PTI.

Scores of devotees will take part in different processions tomorrow, when idols of Hindu God - Lord Ganesha - will be immersed in ponds and lakes, thus culminating the 10-day-long celebrations.

Meanwhile, 3 companies of Rapid Acid Force, 1 company of Border Security Force and 4 companies of State Reserve Police and home guards personnel have been deployed in the city along with 2,000 police personnel.
