Government Denies Fadia's Appointment as Digital India Ambassador, to Clarify Issue Later

Ankit Fadia who claims to be an 'ethical hacker' on his Wikipedia page has claimed that he was appointed as the brand ambassador for Digital India initiative.

Fadia put a certificate on Facebook listing him as a brand ambassador for Digital India and said that he was issued the certificate a couple of months ago for the same.

After the news came under controversy on social media as users questioned Fadia’s credentials, the ministry of communication and IT issued a statement on PIB denying Fadia's statement and said that they haven't appointed any brand ambassadors.

The statement reads, “There were certain news reports that there is move to appoint a brand ambassador for Digital India Programme of the government. This is to clarify that there has been no such move to appoint a brand ambassador as reported." surprisingly, the link stopped working later.

A clarification will be issued in the evening on the same.
