NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday again raised the issue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degrees. Kejriwal said Modi was not able to grasp the “devastating consequences” of demonetisation due to “less education”. Earlier also, Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party had raised questions over the PM’s educational qualification.
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said it was essential that the “truth” about the Prime Minister’s degrees is disclosed as it is the “fundamental right” of the people. “People believe since Modiji is less educated he has taken the decision to demonetise currency without discussing it with anyone. Now that it has jeopardised the lives of people he is not being able to tackle the situation,” Kejriwal said. The AAP chief, who had earlier sought rollback of the note ban move, also demanded that the money deposited by people be used to waive loans of farmers and small traders.
In July, AAP had alleged discrepancies in the released documents, including different spellings of Modi’s name. The party had charged the fact that Modi’s degree certificate is part handwritten shows “manipulation”.
