Family’s objection pushes young couple to commit suicide

BIJNOR: A young couple committed suicide by jumping before a train in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district on Friday after their families objected to their relationship.
 
Alok Saini, 21, and Varsha Saini, 20, had been in a relationship for the past three years and wanted to marry, but their families were opposed to the relationship, police said. The duo belonged to Khushalpur Matheri village, police said.
 
Varsha died on the spot while Alok succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital in Meerut, said SHO Nagina Police Station.
 
Alok worked at a private company in Delhi and Varsha was an undergraduate student at a college in Nagina town here. The bodies have been sent for autopsy, the SHO added.
