IAF's MI-17 helicopter crash-lands in Uttarakhand

DEHRADUN: Several officers and men of 12 Grenadiers escaped with minor injuries when an Mi-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force [IAF] crash-landed while carrying out a drill near Mana village in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district this morning.

The Mi-17 was practising inter valley movement at the Ghastoli helipad between Badrinath and Mana Pass when the incident took place, police sources said.

Prima facie it appeared as if the helicopter developed a technical snag, they added.
