Contractor Shot at Over Old Enmity in UP's Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD: A 52-year-old contractor, engaged in road repair works, was shot at by two motorbike-borne assailants today in Vidhyapur village here allegedly over old enmity.

Amrish Tyagi and his brother, residents of Mainapur village, were engaged in road repair works in the morning when the incident took place, SHO Brijesh Sharma said.

Amrish was injured near the stomach and was admitted to a hospital, he said.

On the basis of complaints received, an FIR has been registered against Gaurav and Yogendra, residents of the same village, under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC, Sharma said, adding investigation is underway and hunt is on to nab the accused.
