CHANDIGARH: Under fire for failing to stop the ten-day Jat quota violence for reservation from flaring up, the Haryana government on Wednesday transferred Director General of Police Yashpal Singal and Intelligence Chief Shatrujeet Kapoor appointing K P Singh is the new DGP of Haryana Police and Anil Rao is the new Intelligence Chief.
As per the orders issued by the Home Department, K P Singh is the new DGP of the State Police and IG (Hisar Range) Anil Rao is the new intelligence chief. Meanwhile Singal has been posted as DG (Prisons) while Kapoor has been posted as Additional DGP (Crime).
For K P Singh, who was the intelligence chief during the INLD Government, the elevation to the post of state police chief is a sort of professional revival, as he had remained on low-key assignments for a decade.
