NEW DELHI: After Uttarakhand High Court set aside Centre’s decision of  imposing President’s Rule in the state, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying people of the country are watching him.

“Modi ji while you attack the Constitution, destroy institutions and undermine democracy please remember people of Uttarakhand and entire country are watching,” Gandhi said in a tweet.

Sharing an article reporting the high court’s order, Gandhi in another tweet said “Modi Govt's blatant power grab fails. Democracy wins.”

In a setback to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government at the Centre, the Uttarakhand High Court set aside President’s rule proclamation in the state.

Allowing ousted chief minister Harish Rawat's petition challenging the imposition of President's Rule, the court fixed April 29 for the floor test for him.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has said the Centre would challenge the court’s verdict in the Supreme Court on Friday morning.
