Allegations Against Congress, Sonia Gandhi Baseless :Pilot

Sachin Pilot accused BJP of engaging in selective malicious campaign, levelling charges against Sonia to divert attention from NDA's failures.

KOLKATA: Allegations against Sonia Gandhi in the VVIP chopper deal are "absolutely baseless", Congress leader Sachin Pilot said today and accused BJP of engaging in selective malicious campaign and levelling charges against her to divert attention from the NDA government's failures.

"The allegations against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders (in the chopper deal) are absolutely baseless. Whenever there are elections, BJP engages in malicious campaign and this time they have engaged in selective malicious campaign against the Congress. It was the Congress-led UPA which had cancelled the deal," said Pilot.

Pilot's comments comes following BJP's move to target the Congress President and other leaders of the party on the issue of bribes in AgustaWestland chopper deal during the UPA regime in a bid to corner the main opposition party which has been paralysing Rajya Sabha over Uttarakhand.

"BJP is engaged in character assassination and malicious campaign. The people will give them a befitting reply. They are raising questions on the honesty and integrity of Congress party on the basis of an unsigned document. BJP can use the investigating agencies to investigate," he added.
