PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today ruled out early Assembly polls in the state.

"My government is for five years. I will not like to reduce it by four months or even five weeks. The election would be held at right time," Parsekar told reporters here.

The tenure of the Legislative Assembly ends in March next year. The Chief Minister refused to respond to media reports that the Election Commission of India might advance the Goa polls to November this year.

Responding to another question, Parsekar said BJP is not bothered about reacting to Shiv Sena Goa unit's comments that they would not ally with the party (BJP).

"Whoever has said it, ask him. Why are you asking me. What difference does that make to us?" the CM asked.

Goa Shiv Sena chief Sudip Tamankar had yesterday said that his party would not ally with BJP for the forthcoming state polls. "BJP has grown across the nook and corner. We have grown horizontally and vertically. The party's work is going on at a different level," Parsekar said.
