Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that the government was closely monitoring the situation in Assam where a terror attack left at least 12 people dead.

NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that the government was closely monitoring the situation in Assam where a terror attack left at least eight people dead.

Rajnath Singh said in a tweet that he had spoken to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who informed him about the situation in Kokrajhar town where the killings took place.

Assam vows to act against terrorists

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday vowed to take "strict action" against the terrorists who gunned down 12 people at a busy market in Kokrajhar town.

"I extend my condolences to the families of the victims. We will take strict against the perpetrators," Sonowal said.
