NIA Arrests IS Sympathiser

NEW DELHI: The NIA has arrested a suspected IS sympathiser, Abdus Sami Qasmi, from Uttar Pradesh on Friday for allegedly delivering provocative and inflammatory speeches in the support of ‘the Caliphate’. He was also involved in motivating youths to go to Syria to fight for the jihadi group.

Qasmi, a resident of Seelampur in Delhi, was arrested from Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday and  was produced before the NIA special court on Saturday, which remanded him to 10 days’ remand. The agency said he was also motivating youths to commit terror strikes across the country.
