26/11 Case: David Headley Gave Wrong Info to Get Indian Visa

MUMBAI: Terrorist-turned-approver David Coleman Headley, a US citizen, on Monday told a city court that a Pakistan-based terrorist Sajid Mir was the man behind his change in identity.

Born as Dawood Geelani Headley had given up his Pakistani passport and acquired a US passport as advised by Mir. He also added his mother’s details and hid the identity of his Pakistani father so that he could easily get the US passport.

Headley deposed before the special court from an unidentified jail in US through video link. Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam questioned Headley. Headley confessed that it was Mir’s idea to go to Mumbai, recee important targets and plan a strike.

He also confessed that he had submitted wrong information to get Indian visa on all the eight times he visited India.
