Congress Leader Kumari Anandhan Faints During Total Prohibition Walk

TIRUNELVELI: Senior Congress leader Kumari Anandhan faints during his walk demanding total liquor prohibition at Panankulam in Tirunelveli district, on Tuesday.

When he resumed his 47 day walk at 8 am at Panankulam and walked for mere 100 meters he fainted. Immediately his supporters called the ambulance service and was taken to a private hospital at Tirunelveli.

He was immediately admitted at Intensive Care Unit(ICU) and all important tests including ECG were taken. After his condition stabilised he was shifted to general ward. However he is still under ventilator and Doctors had asked him to discontinue his walk as it would further worsen his health condition.

His supporters who accompanied him during the walk claimed that he started feeling uncomfortable on Monday evening but was adamant to finish his mission. When he started today he fainted within few minutes.

It is worth remembering that he started his walk at Chennai on December 25 and planned to conclude at Kanyakumari on February 12. He reached Tirunelveli district on February 6.
