CHANDIGARH: In a shocking incident, a policeman's wife was allegedly raped by an unidentified person in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital here on Saturday night.
The victim had delivered a baby and was admitted in the ICU when the alleged incident took place.
The CCTV footage of the hospital shows a man getting down from a Verna outside the hospital at around 3.30 am and going straight to the ICU. He is also seen leaving the hospital later.
The man was caught on CCTV cameras installed at the hospital but managed to escape after he realised the suveillance. Police are conducting raids in Bahadurgarh and neighbouring areas to nab him.
Following a statement by the victim, the police have registered a case under Ssection 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
The victim's relatives have accused the hospital of negligence since no staff were present in ICU when the incident took place.
