NEW DELHI: There was vandalism outside the Patiala House courts here on Monday, where Delhi BJP MLA O P Sharma beat up an unidentified man.
The incident took place when Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar was produced in court.
Talking to the media, the BJP legislator said those raising anti-India slogans would not be spared. “We will beat up those who chant anti-India slogans,” he said.
When asked if he has taken up the onus of patriotism, he replied in affirmation.
Even though he was seen beating an unidentified man, he said, “We were trying to catch hold of one man who was raising pro-Pakistan slogans. We were not beating them.”
