NEW DELHI: A two-year-old minor girl was allegedly abducted and raped by an unidentified man in Greater Noida on Tuesday.  This is the third such incident of alleged rape of a minor less than five year old in Noida and Greater Noida in the last two months.

According to the police the accused after kidnapping the girl from the playground dumped the girl inside a pit at a power house in the same neighborhood. Her parents found her after hearing her cry loudly and they immediately rushed her to a private hospital where her condition is said to be critical.

Police said the victim’s parents who Are daily wagers at a construction site hail from Hamirpur district and live in Greater Noida. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the victim was playing in a park close to the construction site. Police said an unidentified man abducted their younger daughter when she wandered off from the site, he brought her to an isolated place where he raped her.

“We have registered an FIR against an unidentified man under section of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Prima-face, it appears to be the handiwork of a drunkard who may have committed the crime. We are investigating the case. A police team has been formed to arrest the accused,” said a senior police officer.
