Akashvani Ranchi Director, husband die in mishap

The Director of Akashvani, Ranchi and her husband, who was a bank manager, were killed when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a heavy vehicle on Medininagar-Ranchi road near Bakoria, about 36 km from district headquarters Palamau today.

MEDININAGAR (Jharkhand): The Director of Akashvani, Ranchi and her husband, who was a bank manager, were killed when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a heavy vehicle on Medininagar-Ranchi road near Bakoria, about 36 km from district headquarters Palamau today.         

The incident occurred when the couple were on their way to Ranchi from Medininagar, Superintendent of Police, Mayur Patel said.          

Prakash Nandan Sahay (52) who was the Branch Manager of Vananchal Gramin Bank in Medininagar, was killed on the spot, while his wife, Neeleema Sahay (50), the director of Akashvani, Ranchi critically injured, the SP said.           

Neeleema was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was given preliminary treatment and referred to Ranchi. She, however, succumbed to her injuries on way to Ranchi, Patel said.

She was deputed as the director of Akashvani, Ranchi, said its Regional Head S N N Rizvi.
