Assam Congress chief Anjan Dutta passes away

Anjan Dutta was admitted to the hospital on May 25 and was undergoing treatment under pulmonary medicine expert Randeep Guleria.

NEW DELHI:: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta passed away on Thursday morning at AIIMS in New Delhi.

He was a three-time MLA from the Amguri constituency. He also served as the president of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress Committee and the chairman of the North East Youth Congress Coordination Committee.

He was a cabinet minister for several years. He was appointed Assam PCC chief in December 2014.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi arrived at the hospital to meet the bereaved family.

Dutta had been undergoing treatment under pulmonary medicine expert Randeep Guleria of AIIMS. He died today at 7.15 am on Thursday) morning. and his body has been sent to the mortuary now.
