Decomposed dead body found in South Delhi

A highly decomposed body of a woman was found stuffed in a sack and dumped at a garbage bin near a restaurant in Delhi.

NEW DELHI: A highly decomposed body of a woman was found stuffed in a sack and dumped at a garbage bin near a restaurant in Delhi's Lado Sarai on Monday afternoon. Police said the body was more than ten days old and it had almost decayed.

The identity of the woman, aged between 30 and 35 years, could not ascertained till late evening. A case was registered in connection with the recovery of the woman.

Ishwar Singh, deputy commissioner of police (south), said, "The highly decomposed body of an unknown woman was found in a sack in garbage dump near Tavern on the Green restaurant in Lado Sarai. The woman was perhaps murdered somewhere else and the body was dumped near the restaurant."

According to the police, the woman's body was sent to AIIMS mortuary where it will be presented for the next 72 hours for identification purpose. "The autopsy will be conducted after 72 hours to ascertain the exact cause of her death," the officer said.
