A 25-year old choreographer committed suicide at his dance academy after killing his student on Wednesday early morning.

NEW DELHI: A 25-year old choreographer committed suicide at his dance academy after killing his student on Wednesday early morning. The reason behind the murder and suicide is still be probed by the investigators.

The deceased have been identified as Sachin and his student Yogita Rathore (24), police said.

A call at police control room was made at 10 am that two dead bodies found inside a dance academy in Neb Sarai. Policemen found Sachin, a choreographer who runs ABC dance academy in the area, has hanged himself from the ceiling fan with the help of stole and the body of Yogita was found lying on the floor.

Prime facie, it was established that the girl was strangled to death with the help of a cable, as it was found wrapped around her neck. Later, the youth had committed suicide. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot.

During preliminary investigation, it has been found that the Sachin and Yogita were known to each other for last two years. He was choreographer and she was his student.

“They had celebrated Sachin’s birthday on Monday. She used to stay at Sachin’s place often. On Tuesday night she stayed at his dance academy. On Wednesday morning, when students knocked the gate of dance academy at 10 am, no one responded. When one of the student peeped inside the room from a widow, he saw Sachin was hanging and Yogita was lying on the floor, they immediately informed police about the case,” said a senior police official.

Students of the dance academy said that Sachin was in depression for the last few months. They were unaware of the reason but there was something that Sachin never shared with them.

Police said that bodies have been sent for the postmortem. “We will question students and friends of the deceased to find out the reason that provoked Sachin to kill Yogita and hanged himself. Police will also go through social media profiles of deceased to get any clue in the case,” said a senior police official.
