Travel Agents Won't Get Privilege in Wait-listed Tatkal Tickets: Railways

CHENNAI: Waitlisted tatkal tickets would get priority while allotting berths under the emergency quota, said Southern Railway. It added that tickets bought through travel agents would not be considered for this.

Over 28,000 berths across all classes had been released to the common public, the statement added. It stated that special assistance would be given to patients and senior citizens at Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore railway stations for a wheel chair, battery-run car, stretcher and to meet any other needs.

To use these facilities, passengers should register their needs two days earlier and confirmation would be given 45 minutes before reaching the railway station. Passengers could contact 044-25354457 for this, said the note.
