AMRITSAR: Chief of the Army Staff General Dalbir Singh Suhag and his wife today paid obeisance at the Golden Temple here.
Before paying obeisance in the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Golden Temple, the Army Chief walked on the marbled periphery around the Sarovar (water reservoir), Chief Information Officer of Golden Temple, Gurbachan Singh, who accompanied Suhag, said.
Gen Suhag and his wife spent almost 10 minutes inside the sanctum Sanctorum of the temple where they listened to 'Shabd Kirtan' (religious hymns) with rapt attention, he said.
The two spent nearly 50 minutes in the premises of Golden Temple, the CIO said, adding they were presented Sikh religious books, shawl and replica of Golden Temple by the SGPC staff.
