NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro today awarded three female commuters, whose slogans on 'women empowerment' were chosen as the best among more than 500 entries, as part of the International Women's Day celebrations.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) chief Mangu Singh and DMRC Director (Operations) Sharat Sharma handed over the awards to Seema Jain, Varsha Choudhury and Divya Tyagi at a function at the Metro headquarters here.

The winning slogans will be displayed at the Delhi Metro's website as well as the Metro Museum at the Patel Chowk station, a DMRC spokesperson said.

Three female employees of the organisation were also awarded by DMRC as part of a poetry writing competition for the company's women officials.
