8 Students Missing in Himachal Hills Traced

All eight engineering students from Punjab who had gone missing during a trekking near Chandrakhani Pass about 20 km from Manali in Himachal Pradesh  have been traced.

CHANDIGARH: All eight engineering students from Punjab who had gone missing during a trekking near Chandrakhani Pass about 20 km from Manali in Himachal Pradesh  have been traced. While six have been rescued and brought to Rumso village, their two other companions will be brought to safety by Monday morning. Sufficient food and clothing have been provided to the duo. The students were  traced on Sunday morning, 70 hours after they went missing, by an ITBP rescue team deployed by the State government. Meanwhile, the Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment under the DRDO issued an avalanche warning in higher areas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
