No Permission to Pakistan JIT to Enter Airbase: Parrikar

Manohar Parrikar said he had denied permission to the foreign investigative team to go anywhere near the airbase.

PANAJI: The visiting five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) from Pakistan will not have access to the Pathankot airbase to carry out investigation into the terror attack.

Interacting with reporters here on Monday, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said he had especially denied permission to the foreign investigative team to go anywhere near the airbase.

He, however, said the Pathankot terror attack was being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and thus, it was within the purview of the NIA to give permission to the Pakistan JIT to probe the crime scene.

While talking to media, Parrikar said that the Pathankot terror attack case is being investigated by National intelligence Agency (NIA) and it is within their purview to give permission to the Pakistan JIT to probe the crime scene.
