At least 17 soldiers lost their lives and 19 others injured in the terror strike on an army camp close to the headquarters of the 12th Brigade at Uri in Baramulla district.

All four terrorists have been killed in the attack, which was worse than the one mounted on Pathankot air base earlier in January this year, in which seven army men were killed.

The slain suicide attackers were all of foreign origin and, as per initial reports, belonged to the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad.

"Along with the terrorists, we recovered four AK-47 rifles, four under barrel grenade launchers, a large number of grenades and other war-like stores", Lt. Gen. Singh told ANI.

Sepoy HN Bala Diag and Lance Naik Ram Krishna critically injured in the attack are still not out of danger. As for the 17 soldiers who were killed in the bloody Sunday massacre, here are their identities:
